Golden Elm
Ulmus Glabra ‘Lutescens’

A luminous highlight in any landscape, the Golden Elm is beloved for its vibrant, golden-green foliage that glows from spring through to late autumn. A cultivar of the Wych Elm, its botanical name—Ulmus glabra ‘Lutescens’—hints at both its European origin and its sunlit charm.

Unlike many elms, this variety remains compact in form, making it well suited to gardens, parks and estate plantings. Its broad, domed crown provides dappled shade, while its smooth leaves shimmer in the breeze, catching the light in every season.

Though Dutch elm disease has cast a shadow over many elm species, the Golden Elm has shown some resilience, particularly when isolated from infected populations. With its radiant colour and elegant form, it continues to brighten landscapes and lift the eye.
